We visited in very interesting shop yesterday. Name of the shop is Building Pharmacy ( Rakennusapteekki in Finnish) and it´s located in Billnäs , about 80 k from Helsinki. They offer all kinds of old vintage goods that are needed when renovating old houses. Since the place was all about past decades, I decided to use the pin hole feature that I have in my camera, Panasonic LX3. Worked well, I think.

Today we visited at the Finnish Glass Museum in Riihimäki. The museum is focusing on glass design and the history of glass. It was very interesting to learn about the history of glass making, especially about the 300-year history of Finland´s glass industry. My favorite era in the Finnish glass design is the 1950´s. Designers such Nanny Still, Timo Sarpaneva and Kaj Franck really took the glass design and glass art to the new level back then. Modern, yet timeless. Here´s some photos I took from their work. Those cute and interesting birds represent today’s design, and they are designed by Anu Penttinen in 2008.

It´s the best hiking time of the year (here in Finland), and I miss badly the feeling what you get only when you are in the forest. This picture was taken last year in one National Park called Evo.
